This lace shawl, worked as a Pi shawl from the center out, has the option of having sleeves or no sleeves. The body is worked in one color and the edging is worked in a contrasting color. As the edging is worked, the body stitches are bound off. To finish you will have only a few stitches to graft together using the method you desire. This is the second in a series of four, one for each season. Welcome to Summer!

Gauge
The best way to measure your gauge for this project is work rounds 1-28 of the shawl. Block the piece somewhat aggressively so that the lace opens up. Rounds 1-28 should measure about 4.5” / 11.25cm in diameter.
Work rounds 1-28, then place the stitches on a long piece of waste yarn and remove the needles. Block and let dry. If you are happy with the look of the yarn and needle combination and the diameter comes close to the above measurement, place the stitches back on the needles and continue. If you are not happy or the piece is too big or too small some changes will need to be made. Remove the waste yarn, rip out the knitting and gently steam the yarn to make it easier to knit with. Make the changes in the needle size needed to get a bigger or small piece and try again. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions, need help or other comments.
