Season's Passage
Leaves blow in the wind as summer turns to fall. This hat uses stranded colorwork to show a tree preparing itself for fall and winter. Worked from the bottom up, ending with a paper bag top. Have to contain those leaves somehow! Add charms, pompoms or beads to the end of the ties for that special touch.
Materials:
2 contrasting colors of Dk weight yarn 145-175 yards each.
Size G hook or size to meet gauge
Optional: 2 charms, pompoms or beads for the tie ends
Gauge:
19 sts/22 rows per 4 inches, worked in the colorwork pattern
Sizes:
This hat has 3 sizes, but the width can easily be adjusted for any size head. Very small hats will be slouchy, the height of this hat is not as easily adjusted.
Due to the large amount of stranding, this hat does not stretch very much without distorting the pattern.
