The Segla Sweater is a top-down, raglan sweater knit in mostly stockinette stitch with cable borders in place of ribbing. It’s perfect for adventurous beginners who want to try their hand at slightly advanced techniques like German short rows and the cable details provide just enough of a challenge (with an accompanying tutorial video). I designed this sweater to wear on our Easter trip to Senja, Norway this past spring and named it after the famous Segla peak.

Note that the cables are charted only.

Gauge:
22 st x 30 rows = 10x10 cm (4x4 inches) in stockinette stitch on 4.0mm needles, blocked
Note: When you do a gauge swatch, I recommend adding the cable from Chart A or Chart B to the top instead of binding off your stitches. This will help you determine if you need a different needle size for the cable borders.

Yarn:
Sport-weight yarn (sample knit in Cardiff Cashmere Classic 572 - the closest shade I can currently find on their website is shade 670 (112m/25g)) - 985 (1115) 1247 (1412) 1587 (1797) 1992 (2254) 2503 meters / 1078 (1220) 1364 (1545) 1736 (1967) 2178 (2465) 2737 yards.

Needles:
4.0mm circular needles (40 and 80cm)
3.5mm circular needles (40 or 60cm) for the collar
5.0mm circular needles and (optionally) DPNs (for the cable borders)
