After many requests from discerning grown-up knitters, here is the comfy adult version of the popular Lincoln Baby Sweater. No buttons on the shoulder, though. I figure adults can usually get a sweater over their own heads. The split hem adds ease, the textured yoke patterns is a four-row repeat and there is enough mindless stockinette for movie night.

The body starts with a split hem in pattern stitch. Then it’s joined and worked in the round to the armholes. After dividing for front and back, the yoke is worked flat in textured stitch. Sleeves are picked up and worked down, so no seams at all!

CLARIFICATION on sleeve cap:
Row 1 (WS): Purl to last 2 sts of armhole (before stitches picked up on underarm), p2tog, turn.
Semilla Melange is a lovely, lightweight, lofty GOTS certified yarn with gorgeous colors and plenty of yardage per skein.

8/22: I reworked the “divide for front and back” section wording to make it more clear.
