SELENE JUNIOR is designed for kids and is part of my SELENE collection.
I love knitting with multiple colors, and from the start, I wanted to create a design with Nordic references and a distinct look. At the same time, I wanted to give the knitter both a challenge and a cozy project that you want to keep working on because it’s so enjoyable.

SELENE JUNIOR is worked in a blow yarn, which is light, soft, and warm. The yarn is easy to knit with, and in my experience, kids especially love sweaters knit in this type of yarn. We’ve been working in both Eco Soft by Isager Yarn, which has
a beautiful range of colorways in classic shades, and Snefnug by Camarose, which has a lovely range of colors with lots of options if you want something more vibrant. These two yarns give you lots of opportunities to put your personal touch on the project by picking and combining colors that you love.

4 mm and 4.5 mm double-pointed needles
4 mm, 4.5 mm and 5 mm circular needles, 40, 60 and 80 cm
Optional: a 4 mm straight needle for the Italian cast on

NOTE: I choose a needle 0.5-1 mm larger when working the stranded pattern to maintain the same gauge as when working in plain stockinette stitch. It is different from knitter to knitter whether or not your gauge changes when you’re knitting with more than one color. For this reason, I recommend knitting a swatch before beginning the sweater.

Gauge
18 sts x 26 rows in stockinette stitch on a 4.5 mm needle = 10 x 10 cm
18 sts x 22 p in PATTERN on a 5 mm needle = 10 x 10 cm
