I know its strange to love crochet but to not love how crochet can sometimes look “old-fashioned.”

This pattern is NOT my grandma’s crochet towel topper. It is wider and is self-folding so it hangs in a way as to show off the towel’s design better. Also, I’m just not fond of how regular crochet looks just back and forth. It’s too plain when you’re making something that’s going to be on display. Ya know?

You will need:

  • A pretty cotton towel (or not pretty, you choose)
  • 2.5 mm hook for making holes\
  • 5 mm hook
  • cotton yarn
  • a ruler or yardstick
  • Scissors
  • yarn needle

My suggestions for choosing the yarn…

If your towel is more on the heavy duty side, I would use the Lily Sugar and Cream yarn. For lighter material, the Sugarwheel is perfect.

Also, I like to take the towel to the yarn store so I get the best color match.
