Self-Striping Ponytail Hat
By using self-striping sock yarn, this fun ponytail hat gives you all the pizzazz of stripes without having to switch colors. It knits up quickly, and the buttons allow you to wear your ponytail (or bun) in whatever position you like: high, low, or in between. Just undo a button wherever you like to position your ponytail, or undo two buttons for a bun.
This pattern is easy enough for beginners, with instructions that are written out row by row. It is knitted flat, and the seamless design means no sewing parts together and no picking up stitches.
Requires about 160 yards of fingering/ sock yarn (around 50 grams). While the pattern is written with self-striping yarn in mind, the hat also looks great with variegated, hand-dyed, or tonal yarn.
