This shawl was designed for my photographer’s beautiful daughter for her wedding day. It incorporates lily of the valley and pine cone motifs; her birth flower and state tree. Selye is a Quenya (Elvish) word meaning daughter.

Finished Size: 15”x 56” once wet blocked. Easily modified.

Yarn: Dragonfly Fibers Squishy Lace, 100% Superwash Merino, 870 yards/113 grams. Sample knit in Wine Country. Sample used approximately 600 yards.

Needles: 24” or longer circular needle, size 5 US (3.75mm), or size to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 18 stitches and 22 rows in wet-blocked stockinette stitch; gauge is not critical for this item but will affect yardage and drape.

Notions: 150 size 6/0 seed beads (each repeat takes 30; sample shows 5 repeats of beaded lace) and 1.00mm crochet hook/beading tool to place beads. Darning needle to graft and weave in ends.
