The Semiprecious Sweater is a seamless lopapeysa-style sweater worked from the top down. It features a bold stranded-colorwork yoke and back-neck shaping worked back and forth for a comfortable fit. The body and sleeves are then completed separately in the round.

The classic unisex silhouette makes the sweater suitable for both women and men. The pattern is straightforward and explained step by step, making it a great project for knitters who would like to try a top-down colorwork sweater.

Skill level: Intermediate.

Sizes:
Size I — to fit a chest circumference of 84–88 cm; finished circumference approximately 98 cm
Size II — to fit a chest circumference of 92–96 cm; finished circumference approximately 104 cm
Size III — to fit a chest circumference of 100–104 cm; finished circumference approximately 110 cm

The sweater is designed to be worn with approximately 6–14 cm of positive ease.

Yarn:
BC Garn Semilla Melange - 100% organic wool, GOTS-certified
(175 m / 50 g)

Amounts are given for Sizes I (II, III).
Main colour: 5 (5, 6) skeins
Approximately 875 (875, 1050) m

Contrast colour:
1 (1, 1) skein

Total yarn required:
6 (6, 7) skeins
Approximately 1050 (1050, 1225) m

Gauge:
20 sts × 26 rnds = 10 × 10 cm in stockinette stitch after blocking.

Needles:

• 4.50 mm circular needles with 40, 60, 80 and 100–120 cm cables for the colorwork yoke, body and sleeves
• 3.50 mm circular needles for the ribbing.
