Sengana Produce Bag
This is meant as a handy little bag to replace the flimsy plastic bags offered for produce. It folds into a little ball, making it easy to keep in your purse.
The lace is open enough for cashiers to be able to see what is in your bag.
You can make bag bigger to transform it into a market bag or make longer ties to turn them into handles.
Needles:
- Double pointed needles (or circulars) in the recommended needle size for the yarn.
- Circular needle 4-5 whole sizes larger than recommended needle size for the yarn.
Yarn and gauge:
- Any size yarn, but thinner than 16 m = 10 cm is best. For the standard size, one 50 g (2 oz) skein will be sufficient.
Choose a fiber that will survive being washed on hot (in case of mushy produce) like cotton or linen.
Other notions:
- 50 cm (20”) ribbon, string, yarn, shoe laces, whatever you have on hand, for the closure.
