This design is the first in a series—12 washcloths in sequence knitting for 2023. The first sequence we’ll work is {knit 3, purl 3}, and this month, we’ll work it in a simple one-row pattern. Next month, we’ll work the same 6-stitch repeat in a serpentine method, which will completely change the look of the stitch pattern. In March, we’ll work a shaped sequence, and knit the washcloth from corner to corner. Then, we’ll move on to a different sequence. Each pattern will come with general instructions for sequence knitting, as well as the specific instructions for the featured dishcloth.

Thanks to Knit Picks (https://www.knitpicks.com/) for providing their Dishie yarn for the samples.

This washcloth is a simple project. The skills you will need to know--or learn--to complete it are:

  • cast on and bind off;
  • knit and purl.
