English Crochet PDF pattern: Serena Tank Top

The tank top is made in two pieces - front and back panel - which are then sewn together at the sides and shoulders. The design is finished off with a few touches along the edges, giving it a sporty, store-bought look that’s often hard to find in crochet. The clever use of negative ease creates the illusion of shaping at the top of the tank, even though it’s made from two simple panels with decreases only at the armholes and neckline.

CROCHET LEVEL
Advanced beginner / Intermediate (You should know how to read a crochet pattern and be comfortable with the basic stitches, know how to count stitches, know how to count rows and know how to use the mattress stitch for seaming. All other stitches and techniques are explained in the pattern).

SIZING
This pattern comes with instructions for 9 sizes: XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL) ranging from bust circumferences of 28-62 in 71-158 cm. The size guide and measurements for the tank top itself can be found within the pattern.

MATERIALS

• Yarn: myboshi - bamboo: 125 m, 137 yds / 50 g, 1.75 oz in 2 different colorways: main color and contrast color.
• Hook: 3 mm crochet hook or any other hook needed to obtain the gauge
• Buttons: 2 buttons measuring approximately 2 cm in diameter (other sizes will work too as long as you adjust the spacing and size of each buttonhole accordingly).
• Other: Stitch markers, darning needle, tape measure, scissors, thread in a color similar to your yarn color (or similar to your button color depending on your preference) for attaching the buttons, sewing needle (or any needle that fits through the holes on your buttons when threaded).

For my tank top, I used myboshi bamboo in the colorway chestnut brown.
