A timelessly beautiful field of 3-color interlocking squares is easily achieved with slipping of stitches. There are no floats to contend with in this style of color work making it very achievable even for the newest of knitters. A simple 6-row repeat of knits, purls and slipped stitches is very easy to remember, and becomes wonderfully meditative. Energize the stitches with thoughts of love, joy, patience, serenity, or whatever you wish for the wearer.

Wrap yourself in a Serene Embrace with this generously sized rectangular wrap. Wear over your shoulders with the ends covering your lap to keep warm while sitting, swoop one end across your chest and over your shoulder for an elegant look, or wrap around your neck once or twice as a long stylish scarf.

The wrap is worked flat, with 2x2 rib on the ends and i-cord edging bordering the classic 3-color dice check pattern. You’ll get into a quick rhythm of repeats of knits, purls and slipped stitches to easily create the sophisticated fabric of this beautiful wrap. This pattern is suitable for beginners and advanced knitters alike.
