Intermediate skill level. A knowledge of Tunisian crochet in the round is required.
This beanie and neck warmer are made using Tunisian crochet in the round. The photographs illustrate them made with Stylecraft plain dyed yarn and Sirdar Hayfield Spirit, both double knitting weight yarns. One 100g ball of each is required to make both items, with a 4.50mm double ended crochet hook or size required to obtain the correct tension/gauge.
The first round is made by working regular double crochet (US single crochet) stitches into a magic ring, finishing with a slip stitch to join. The second round onwards uses Tunisian crochet stitches in the round. As the beanie is worked in continuous rounds, you will need to work each round in sections of a few stitches at a time. Stitch markers might be helpful.
The pattern is written in 3 sizes; small, medium and large adult (head circumference 20 inches/51cm, 21 inches/54cm and 23 inches/59cm.
