This dress was designed to flatter little toddler bodies. It is knitted completely in the round as are most of my projects.

The bodice and skirt are knitted from different weight yarns.

Bodice gauge is 21 sts per 4 inches in pattern.
Skirt gauge is 23 sts per 4 inches in stockinette stitch.

Skirt gauge is not that important, and a range of different weight yarns can be substituted with ease.

Note on yarn (please read it is important!!!!):

The project was designed with cotton yarn in mind. If however wool is chosen, it will be recommended to go up a size. Cotton stretchiness was accounted for in the pattern design (2 inches of negative ease are incorporated into the design), and wool on the other hand has a lot of elasticity and memory.

Cotton Joy yarn is available once again, but from a different distributor this time (Diamond Yarns). Enquire at your local yarn store. Diamond Yarns picked up a few yarn lines from Lana Gatto and Filtes King along with other brands.

Happy knitting everyone!
