I have been wanting to design a Shakespeare for a long time, and I am tickled pink, purple, and blue that he turned out so fiendishly cute! He is designed to be a desk mate, a little fiber friend to hold your pens, rulers, and Sharpies when times get tough, or you know, when your dad dies under suspicious circumstances and your mom marries your uncle and your prom date starts spying on you for the man.

Okay, for real, Shakespeare can hold anything for you, because there’s a clean, empty can on his insides. If you have nothing in the world that needs holding, you can turn him into an ami, too.

To make him, you’ll need a G hook, yarn in the colors shown, some safety eyes, and a clean, empty “standard” can (in international terms, a can / tin about 11cm tall and 7.4 cm across the top, or in American terms, a 14.5 ounce can of diced tomatoes, green beans, corn, etc.)

He’s a fairly easy project involving absolutely no iambic pentameter, but you do need to know these stitches: sc, HDC, DC, and picot. (If picot is new for you, you can watch a video on YouTube and pick it up in about 13 seconds. Seriously. It’s that easy.)
