Errata: When setting up the gusset, the instructions to “knit to 2nd gusset marker, LLI” should read “knit to the 1st top marker, LLI, sm and start chart.”

Thanks to sales of this pattern, I donated $200 total from Jan. 16 to Feb. 28 to the Red Cross’s Haiti Relief and Development fund

A Japanese short row toe, arch shaping, gussets, and smooth traditional heel (toe-up) make these toe-up socks one of the most comfortable pairs I own. (And the short row techniques eliminate the little pips you get with wrap and turn. Believe it or not, some people can feel the wraps, but they won’t feel these.) Watch them closely because a curse is on them if they stay and they might just grow legs and walk out of your closet.

The pattern includes instructions for DPNs, magic loop, and two circulars and features a simple, charted lace pattern. The arch shaping uses paired decreases in a full-fashion blip style. This means you won’t feel the shaping on the bottom of your foot.

Note: The sole shown on this page is the sole for the actual sock. Several testers have kindly posted photos of their sock soles. The sock sole was changed during testing from a triple decrease to the paired decreases shown here. This means there isn’t any risk of feeling the decreases on the sole of the foot.
