This is a kimono-shaped shawl using lattice/filet style alternating double crochet and chain spaces. It can be tied together in the front and sides with the optional I-cords in the pattern, or the two front panels themselves can be tied together. Alternately the front and sides can be sewn together to make a long vest.

A self-striping yarn with a very long stripe, such as Lion Brand Mandala, is recommended. It requires most of two 590-yard (540-m) cakes. It would also work with solid colors or variegated patterns.
