Looking for a fingerless mitt pattern that you can knit FLAT? With the yummiest yarn ever, Malabrigo? Look no farther.

I left more information in the blog post about gauge and changing the size of the pattern--the size given in the pattern is XS women’s or maybe XXS. It was written for a dear friend’s sister who is very ill and very thin. Feel free to leave comments in the blog with questions; I’ll do what I can.

Note about using Malabrigo: while I love knitting it and wearing it, it is not the hardest-wearing yarn ever. More like the least-hard wearing yarn: I knit myself some fingerless mitts in it years ago and have worn through the yarn in six places. I still wear them anyway with patches, but, to warn you, don’t make these in Malabrigo for a lumberjack to wear. Or for yourself if you plan to wear them everyday for several years, unless you’re prepared to patch them.

Want a harder-wearing yarn? Use any other worsted yarn, especially one with multiple plys (unlike Malabrigo’s single ply). Wool-Ease, Patons classic merino, lots of choices would be fine.
