The pattern features columns, of what to me look like seed leaves, in particular spinach seed leaves.

Excitedly in the garden one day, having observed that some seeds had germinated, I said “look, seed leaves” and I was kindly reminded that they are also known as “cotyledons”, thus the name of these socks.

These stranded colour work socks are worked toe up with a heel flap and gusset and feature elongated crossed stitches to create the seed leaves. They are easy and fun knit.

The instructions for the construction of the socks are written and the colour work pattern is only charted. For all sizes I would suggest 100 g of main colour and 50-60 g for the contrast colour.

Thank you to SNSSO, Yalta and Schmuckkoerbchen for testing and providing valuable input. A huge thanks also to Condichick, yarnymama and SNSSO for their valued advice, guidance, feedback and encouragement.
