This is a lovely Stranded Knitting Project for the beginner and experienced knitter, alike. It uses bulky yarn and only four colors so those new to stranded knitting will find it easy to complete. Full color charts are supplied for both a large and small pillow cover.

This pillow cover is worked in the round, from the bottom up. The top is closed using a 3 - needle bind off. A standard size pillow form is inserted and the bottom is closed with a crocheted seam. Tassels can be added for a decorative finish.

Gauge is not terribly important for this project because one can always make their own pillow form out of fiberfill, to fit the final size of their cover!

I taught an Introduction to Fair Isle Knitting Class at Amelia’s Fabric and Yarn Shoppe, using this pattern. Some of the knitters had never tried stranded knitting before and had their covers completed in just two weeks.
