When our kids were little, we used to spend a week or two at the end of the summer in a rustic camp (no running water!) in Owl’s Head on Penobscot Bay. The outhouse had the BEST view ever—you could sit and watch the lobster boats chugging by, windjammers coming into harbor for the night and, off in the distance, the sandy shore of Sheep Island. This island is a superb place to spend the day, beach-combing, swimming and berry-picking. Best of all, it was recently purchased by the Maine Coast Heritage Trust and is now safe for future generations of little explorers!
This cowl is designed with a Maine sport-weight yarn in 8 island-themed colors. It is a tubular Moebius cowl with a half-twist, nice and comfy around the neck—keep warm this winter while thinking island thoughts!
