Knitting and sheep go together like peanut butter and jelly, and are even more adorable in baby sizes.

There is a baby boom amidst my friends and family this year, so I needed a pattern that was cute, fun to knit, fast, and would bring on the lovely “oohs” and “aaahs” at all the baby showers. I started with this little dress, and later added hats and sweaters (to be released soon!) in different weights.

This little dress is sized in newborn to 24 months, and can easily be knit longer or shorter to your preference (think tunic sweater vs longer dress) - shorter will likely work better for crawlers, so their adorable little knees don’t tangle in the skirt.

The newborn size is a great little stashbuster, as it only takes a total of 270 yards in 4 different colors. Sheep are cute in all the colors, from crazy neons and rainbows, to lovely monochromatic greys, so be as creative as you like.
