The gauge I listed is not accurate, there is no real gauge, you can use any size yarn and a matching hook. The lower the yarn weight, the more delicate the choker. Most of the images are using size 10 crochet thread and a 2mm hook.

The Shell Stitch Choker crochet pattern is an advanced beginner level and requires knowledge of single crochet, slip stitch, and shell stitches. It does not teach you how to crochet in general and assumes you are familiar with the basic stitches.
