This is the Shells & Diamonds Kimono. This oversized cardigan is great for cooler days. Toss it on over a cute dress or casual jeans and you automatically have a stylish outfit without a lot of fuss. With two types of lace, the kimono is visually appealing without being too busy. You can even wear this kimono over prints without worrying about classing.

This kimono comes in 4 sizes from S - 5XL incorporating between 17 - 25” of positive ease, so the pattern is very size inclusive! And, it is easy to adjust for either a smaller or larger size.

Ideal Bust Measurements:
S/M : 32”-39”
L/XL: 40”-47”
2XL/3XL: 48”-55”
4XL/5XL: 56”-63”

Laid Flat:
S/M: 33” wide x 35” long
L/XL: 35.75” wide x 37.25” long
2XL/3XL: 38.5” wide x 38.5” long
4XL/5XL: 41.25” wide x 39.75” long
(measurements after blocking)

If you want a more form fitting kimono, make a size down from your normal bust measurement (it will still have positive ease, but not as much). If you want to make a lighter weight kimono, you can use weight 3 yarn and go up a size (make sure you create a gauge swatch to be absolutely certain you are getting the size you want).

Gauge is 3.33 st/ 7.33 rows = 4” in dc, 4 shell pattern repeats = 5.5” wide and 4” long

I used Lily Sugar’n Cream for my sample kimono. To create the kimono you will need Approx 1338(1495, 1661, 1834) yards depending on which size you choose.
