You can use any 4ply-weight or sock yarn to achieve a similar effect. Please check yardage of mini skeins as different lengths of mini skeins may affect the yarn use. Alternatively use roughly 700g/2,125m/2,324yds of 4ply-weight yarn.

Before you begin, pair your mini skeins using contrasting shades. For this design, I’ve used 28 different colours- two for each of the 14 blocks- and a contrasting 100g skein for the edging. The cardigan is constructed from 14 large blocks, each made up of 16 small squares.

TENSION
Rnds 1–3 of a small square measure 5cm/2in using a 2.5mm hook or size required to obtain tension.

Each block measures 20 (25, 32)cm/8 (10, 12¾)in.

MEASUREMENTS
Size 1 to fit UK sizes 6–10.
Size 2 to fit UK sizes 12–18.
Size 3 to fit UK sizes 18–24.
Model shown is a UK size 14-16 and wears size 2. The cardigan is worn with plenty of positive ease.
