This crescent-shaped shawl features two traditional Shetland Lace patterns, Horse Shoe and Cat’s Paw. The Horse Shoe lace gives a nice scalloped edge and the Cat’s Paw is a neat transition between the more intricate lace at the bottom and the variegated yarn on top. Unlike a standard triangle, the crescent shape will stay nicely around your shoulders.

The shawl is knit from the bottom up with both charted and written instructions provided. I encourage you to choose a more solid-colored yarn for the two lower lace sections, otherwise the lace pattern doesn’t show well. I’ve minimized the lace in the top section to allow the use of a more variegated colorway.
