This hat is made with traditional fair-isle patterns and colors with Jamieson & Smiths Shetland Heritage 2 ply yarn. The yarn is worsted spun so very smooth and strong.
I used 1 x 25 gram ball in each of the following shades - Fluggy White, Auld Gold, Peat, Madder, Berry Wine & Indigo. Please note the Heritage yarn is slightly finer than Jamieson and Smith 2ply jumper weight so if you substitute with that the hat will turn out quite a bit bigger.
The hat was knitted on a 2.5mm x 40cm circular needle but for a US size could be knitted on a number 2 but try a tension swatch first.
Skills for this pattern are 2 color knitting, 2 color corrugated rib, increasing and decreasing.
