Shibori Tee
The Shibori Tee is a lightweight top inspired by the intricate geometry of traditional Japanese shibori dyeing. Worked in mosaic knitting, its boxy, modern shape echoes the simplicity of Japanese fashion, making it both elegant to wear and approachable to knit.
This pattern includes a detailed schematic, tutorial links to specific skills, a construction plan, contextual explanations of what you’re knitting, and adjustment notes to help you fit the garment to your body.
An additional video tutorial about pattern adjustments for the Shibori Tee can be found for free on Patreon.

Note that mosaic knitting significantly affects gauge pre-blocking. I recommend you wash and block your swatch before measuring for gauge.

Construction Plan
The Shibori Tee is knit from the top down with very little shaping. The back is knit flat to the underarms, beginning with Mosaic Ribbing before working the main stitch pattern. Stitches are picked up from the shoulders for the front and worked back and forth before joining front and back under the arms. Smaller sizes decrease under the arms, while larger size increase at the armholes before joining in the round. The body is then knit in the round to the hem, and stitches are picked up around the armholes to knit edging.
