Inspired by nature and the beauty of trees, Shield of the Nymph is a lace crescent shawl which starts from the top middle and works out.
It is beaded throughout the shawl which gives it a unique drape and feel.

The original yarn used has some nylon in it and has some bounce but I would reccomend it with a non nylon yarn as the drape would change and be stunning.

The shawl can be worked with the recommended size needles for any size yarn and can be worked for any number of pattern repeats. For a nice size shawl I would recommend about 600-800 yards of fingering weight yarn on size 2 or 3 needles.

The bead placement and technique is in the pattern and the shawl can also be worked without beads by simply working “beaded stitches” as regular knit stitches or decreases.

  • Hook is an optional tool for adding the beads.
