Shimmering Stars Wall Hangings
by Kim Bakker
Currently only available in Dutch, English version (US terms) will be available soon.
Details
- Pattern: The pattern includes 3 different patterns for 3 sizes of metal star shapes.
- Difficulty: this pattern is suitable for experienced crocheters and adventurous beginners. The following stitches are used: slip stitch, single crochet, double crochet (together), chain stitch, 2/3 double crochet cluster.
- Technique: this pattern is worked in the round for the middle part. After that, you are crocheting rows and turning your work after every row.
- Languages: the pattern is currently available in Dutch (written instructions and chart). A US terms version will be available soon.
- You are allowed to sell items that you created by means of this chart. I would appreciate of you could mention Kim Bakker (KimHaakt) as a designer by referring to www.kimhaakt.nl.
Materials
- Yarn: 2 skeins of Scheepjes Catona (Shine). I have used the color 105-G Bridal White Gold. Please note that this is enough to crochet the pieces and thread the yarn around the shape to attach the pieces, not to crochet around the star shapes. If you want to do this, you need one more skein. Also please note that if you crochet loose, 2 skeins might not be enough. In that case I’d also suggest to buy an additional skein.
- Hook: I have crocheted Catona Shine with hook 2.5mm. The regular Catona is a bit thinner, so you might need a bigger hook to match the gauge. A smaller or bigger hook might be needed to match gauge.
- Star frames: in 3 sizes: small (28 cm / 11 inch ), medium (38 cm / 15 inch) and large (48-50 cm / 18.9-19.7 inch). Please note that I designed the stars for the particular shapes I have used. Metal star shapes from different brands may vary slightly in size or shape. Even if your crochet work matches the gauge in the pattern, it may not fit your star shapes perfectly. This is something to keep in mind before starting with the pattern.
- Notions: stitch marker, scissors, tapestry needle, tape measure
