Shoal Shawl is an arrow-shaped shawl featuring a clean, geometric silhouette. It is worked sideways, beginning at the left tip and gradually growing towards the right edge. The two-color motif is created by changing the color of the yarn every two rows and using a combination of knit stitches and slipped stitches.

The pattern includes instruction for making 5 regular variants with 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 rows of the fish motif and one improvised variant. Thanks to this, you can use yarns of any weight and gives you full control over the final appearance and size of the shawl.

The pattern includes fully written out instructions as well as charted ones. In charts odd rows should be read from right to left and even rows from left to right.

The calculations and parameters below were made based on 8 row of the fish motif variant.
