Reminiscent of Japanese rice-paper screens, this cowl is knit sideways and divided into 6 panels with different arrangements of slipped stitches. The provisional cast-on is worked together with the live stitches at the end in a 3-needle bind-off. A few short rows make it slightly wider at the bottom for a better fit. I-cord edges are knit as you go.

Skills required:
• Provisional cast-on
• Slipped stitches
• Simple short rows (picking up wraps is not required)
• 3-needle bind-off

Sample knit in Brooklyn Tweed Quarry in Moonstone.
