I designed ‘Sholach’ for my friends Kelly, Craig and their family who run Sholach Christmas Tree Farm in Scotland.

It is created using the overlay mosaic technique.

The PDF includes 6 easy-to-read charts (with X’s for DCs) for each pattern, along with corresponding written instructions.

Two PDFs are available—one using US terms and one using UK terms.

You can use any yarn and corresponding hook you like for this pattern, just remember that a tighter tension is better for mosaic crochet.

If using Stylecraft Special Aran, you will need approximately 20 skeins for the main body of the blanket. (not including a border)

• 10 skeins for colour A
• 10 skeins for colour B

Between 3858 - 4501 yards (3528 - 4116 metres)

This will create a blanket approximately 155cm x 115cm (61” x 45”) without a border.

You can, of course, create any size you want, as it’s a simple repeating pattern.

I hope you enjoy creating your own Sholach blanket.

Please do share your creations online and tag #getyerhookon and #sholachmosaiccrochet
