Shoreline Socks
by Dolly Quinn
This sock pattern debuts the ‘Gusset Shift’ heel method that I developed as a hybrid combining features of a traditional flap & gusset heel with features of the Strong Heel that’s knit in the round. Similar to a traditional heel, it has gussets, but does not require picking up stitches on each side of the heel flap. The gussets are created with increases, in garter stitches, as you continue to knit in the round. This method also avoids the probability of holes at the beginning of the gussets.
