The ‘Short and Sweet Sweater’ is reminiscent of the classic ’30s and ’40s puffy short sleeve cropped style. It is a fluffy, comfy, and vintage-y looking top that is great for laying over a long sleeve shirt or wearing on its own. This makes it a great pattern for any season or climate!

Customization: The pattern allows for customization of the body and sleeve length, and you can also use any colors/stripes/colorwork that you’d like! While I designed this with mohair in mind, I would love for this to be an opportunity for you to use what is already in your stash! So you can try out any yarn or yarn combinations that match gauge.

Construction:
The sweater is worked bottom up in the round, and then separated into the front and back. Each shoulder is then worked one at a time and joined using a three needle bind off. You pick up stitches for the neckline and knit in the round to your desired length. The sleeves are also worked in the round, using German Short Rows to create the signature puff!

Difficulty: Confident Beginner - Intermediate
Note: This is subjective, and different for everyone!

This Pattern comes in 10 sizes

Yarn:
I recommend that you use two different yarns for this sweater: Yarn A and Yarn B. Yarn A will be used for all the ribbing and the accent line on the top of the shoulders. Yarn B will be used for the body and sleeves. While I recommend using a lighter, fluffier yarn for Yarn B than Yarn A, it is ultimately your choice! You can use any yarns that meets gauge. These will be Worsted or Aran weight yarns.
I include a list of yarn recommendations in the pattern.

Estimated Amount of Yarn Needed:
