Shrimp Amigurumi
Simple knitting pattern for a amigurumi shrimp. A fun bag accessory, keychain, or just a cute amigurumi toy. This project is knitted completely flat on two straight needles.
Detailed guide with step-by-step row instructions and photos. Written in standard English using US terms.
This project works well as a stash-buster. It requires only small amounts of yarn, making it a practical way to use up leftover yarn scraps. You can use absolutely any yarn you like, including fluffy plush yarn! The sample in the photos is knitted from YarnArt Jeans as a suggested option.
SIZES
• Approx. 3 inches (7.5 cm) long. If you use thick plush yarn, your shrimp will be larger and extra soft.
YARN REQUIREMENTS
• Yarn weight: Sport / Fine / 4-ply or any preferred weight.
• Yarn consumption: Approx. 18–35 yards (5–10 g) of Orange or Coral/Pink yarn.
• Eyes: Approx. 0.3 yards (25 cm) of Black yarn or thread.
MATERIALS & NEEDLES
• Knitting needles: US 1 (2.25 mm) straight needles (or suitable size for your chosen yarn).
• Other tools: Tapestry needle for seaming, fiber filling (stuffing), and scissors.
• Gauge: Not critical for this project, but stitches should be tight enough so stuffing does not show.
