Sometimes, when one finds themselves stuck with the dreaded affliction of Knitter’s Block (and perhaps a minor cold), they start a small project with their wonderfully colored yarns and hope for the best. I was one such person recently. These waffle stitch mittens are simple to make, and the corrugated ribbing adds a wonderful touch to a beautiful and handy stitch!

What you need:
⦁Gauge of 22 sts/4” and approximately 28 rows/4” in stockinette
⦁Double pointed needles (DPNS) to get gauge; since the waffle stitch used in the main part of mitten is stretchy, they’re one-size-fits-all for adults. Go down a needle size from what you would use to get gauge if the pair you make is for particularly small () hands.
⦁Worsted weight yarn, in two colors - I used Caron Simply Soft Party in teal for the main color, and Red Heart Soft Touch in sky blue for the contrast color. On the second mitten, the main color/contrast colors were reversed.
