This pattern uses the woven crochet stitch - sc, ch1. By changing colors every row, a striped pattern across the width of the scarf is created. This scarf is crocheted lengthwise. Because of its simplicity, it makes a great travel project and is suitable for beginning crocheters.

The length of the scarf can be adjusted by adding or subtracting and even number of chain stitches. The model is 54” in length, excluding the fringe. One skein of each color is needed to make the model. Lengthening the scarf will most likely require an additional skein of each color.

Gauge is not important. However, by using a larger hook, the weave will be looser and the drape will flow more freely.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 10% of all sales of this pattern will go to Making Strides for Breast Cancer, an annual walk sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
