Sidecut Socks
The Sidecut Socks are worked from the top-down in the round in a 2x2 rib. Sections of the leg are worked flat, back and forth, to create the side slits. Once the leg is complete, you have the option to work either a classic sock or stirrup version.
Classic Sock: The heel is worked using a ribbed heel flap and gusset. After the heel, the 2x2 rib is continued across the top of the foot, while the sole is worked in stockinette. The sock is finished with a wedge toe.
Stirrup Sock: Decreases are worked at each side of the foot to shape a strap that fits beneath the foot.
