Have you ever caught someone staring at you out of the corner of their eye? As soon as you look at them, they look away. Maybe they sneak glances at you over and over again. The Sidelong Glance Hat was designed to draw everyone’s attention. In this hat, the stripes are worked vertically to create a brim that will have knitters sneaking glances to see just how you knit those pretty chevrons. The vertical stripes in the brim give you the chance to highlight more colors from your striping sequence than you would in a traditional hat. This pattern is great for a yarn with narrow stripes because, even though the brim looks big and dramatic, the rows are short. Not sure you need another hat? Consider skipping the crown and making your new favorite headband.
