This little baby jacket is made by knitting the cabled yoke then picking up stitches from the top and bottom for the neck, body and sleeves. There are no seams and just a little finishing at the front edges to keep the stockinette stitch from rolling.

While the pattern isn’t particularly difficult, gauge is important to take note of and adjustments need to be made for any discrepancies (gauge given for both the cable and stockinette). If gauge is different than what’s written, picking up stitches from the sideways yoke won’t end up working out correctly.

Besides the yarn, the pattern requires 3 buttons (5/8”-3/4” diameter). Tools include both circular and double pointed size 9 needles and 2 stitch holders.
