This scarf can be made with about 1/2 skein of each color. It is thick, warm, and perfectly reversible with ‘really clean’ color changes.

You have the added option of working from written out or charted instructions.

This design was inspired by and fits the criteria of the Scarves for Special Olympics Washington State Winter Games. It is my hope that those who take advantage of the free download will make up at least one scarf for donation to a charitable cause.

This is a scarf, so gauge is not as important as your satisfaction with the resulting fabric. Needle size should be adjusted to get a width in the vicinity of 5 or 6 inches. Remember to work through several pattern repeats (cabling rows) in order to get a true approximation of the scarf’s actual width.

Thank you to Cindy Harrison. She is the test knitter of my dreams.
