Sienna Throw is an overlay mosaic crochet pattern with a 32-stitch repeating design. Included in the pattern are some different color combination ideas, as well as common sizes, yardage, and instructions for each size. It includes the original pattern PDF, printer-friendly PDF, and a guide to overlay mosaic crochet.

I made a 5x5 piece that measures 50” x 48” without the border. I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn in Buff and Chocolate. The size is subject to change depending on your crochet tension and yarn/hook choices.

For the border, I used 4” burlap ribbon with a 1” cotton lace ribbon and sewed the envelope border. There are very basic instructions on how to do this. I am NOT a sewer so there are likely better tutorials available online; I am only able to provide the basic information.

This is beginner level pattern and includes a beginner’s guide on how to do mosaic crochet. The PDF does include a photo tutorial on creating a basic envelope border.

The PDF pattern is written in U.S. terminology and includes the full written pattern in a row-by-row format, as well as the ticked graphs. The written format is in a new, easier to read format! Also included is a printer-friendly PDF that allows you to print only the necessities for the pattern.

Please note that different yarns, different tensions, and different hook sizes will all utilize a different amount of yarn. All yarn totals are included in the pattern. There are also estimations of yardage needed for varying sizes of blankets. Each square uses approximately 74 yards, depending on yarn and tension.
