Sierra Scarf is a generously sized scarf featuring a bold chevron pattern and neat slipped-stitch edges. It is worked flat from end to end.

Customize the scarf by choosing your own colors and adjusting the length or width. For a touch of sparkle, hold the main yarn together with a fine metallic, shimmer or sequin thread.

Skill level: beginner.

Size:

Approximately 37 cm wide × 210 cm long after blocking.
Both the length and width can be adjusted. Please note that changing the dimensions will also change the amount of yarn required.

Gauge:

Approx. 23 sts * 20 rows = 10 cm in stockinette stitch after washing and blocking.

Yarn:

The sample is knitted with Fonty Saperlipopette (125 m / 25 g; 65% baby suri alpaca, 20% silk, 15% merino wool).

For the three-color version, you will need 6 skeins / approximately 750 m in total — 2 skeins / approximately 250 m of each color.

You may use any substitute yarn that matches the stated blocked gauge and creates a light, soft and drapey fabric. A yarn close to 500 m per 100 g is a good starting point. Make and block a swatch before beginning.

Needles and tools:

• 4–4.5 mm knitting needles, or the needle size needed to obtain gauge
• Tapestry needle
• Blocking mats and pins are optional.
