The skills required are casting on, knitting, binding off, picking up and knitting stitches.
The blanket is worked in one piece, in garter stitch.
There is no purling and no sewing required!
Blanket requires a total of 520 yards of chunky weight yarn - 260 yards of Main Color ( for main body ), and 260 yards of Contrast Color ( for borders ).
The sample was knit using 4 skeins of Ella Rae Cozy Soft Chunky Weight yarn - 2 skeins of #307 ( Main Color ) and 2 skeins of #211 ( Contrast Color ).
Gauge is 3.5 stitches = 1 inch, in garter stitch.
Size 10 circular needle ( 24” ) is recommended.
Change needle size as necessary, to achieve correct gauge.
While gauge is not critical, knitting at a different gauge will affect the amount of yarn used.
