Pattern description
The Sigrid Sweater is a top-down raglan with a rolled neckline, smooth raglan shaping, balloon sleeves and a 2x2 ribbing . Its oversized fit makes it perfect for layering or just a cosy sweater. The sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down. Raglan increases are worked in the round, and short rows are added before splitting for sleeves to raise the back neck to ensure a comfortable fit. Stitches are picked up beneath the arms and the body is knit in the round including the ribbing. The sleeves are then worked top-down with evenly spaced decreases along the sleeve and a fast decrease in the end to create a balloon shape. The Sweater requires no finishing work other than weaving in the ends and blocking the finished garment. Before beginning the project, knit a swatch. Wash and block the swatch to ensure an accurate gauge. Note that the recommended yarn, Plötulopi, does not stretch much when blocking.
