Sihl Hat
I came up with this design while browsing a book about Swiss chalets. I was interested by the clean lines and warmth of chalet interiors and wanted to replicate those ideas in a hat. This hat uses mosaic knitting so only one strand of yarn is used per round, making it less fussy than traditional stranded colorwork. The double brim provides extra warmth and makes full use of a partial skein. The contrasting color is a great stash dive opportunity where matching the gauge between the two yarns has some flexibility. The sample hat uses a sport weight yarn as the main color and a slightly heavier, leaning DK weight yarn for the contrast.
