This pattern really takes full advantage of this incredible all-silk yarn, since it opens up and turns just 1 skein of Silk Dream into a huge shawl.

Silk has interesting properties:

  1. It is very difficult to rip and wears like iron… in fact i have cut my hands trying to tear it without scissors. So it is perfect for a design like this where the yarn could snag and pull. Just pull it right back in, it will NEVER break.
  2. It takes on your body temperature so once you put it on you forget you are wearing it. There is nothing more comfortable, and it keeps you warm in winter and yet is perfectly wonderful to wear in summer.

I’ve decided to provide this gift to you because you will see that it doesn’t take much to create a wonderful shawl, just this really great yarn, which is available through these re-sellers:

NOTE ON THE NEEDLES: I think you will be much happier with STRAIGHT NEEDLES on this one. Try it that way.
