“Every cloud has a silver lining.” It’s up to us to look for it in difficult times. We seem to be appreciating our relationships more and not taking as many things in our lives for granted. People are helping each other out and there’s a return to basics such as baking and gardening… and knitting!

The Silver Linings Shawl has rugged garter sections that transition into delicate bands of lace with a few cheery bands of color to represent hope for a brighter future.

Yarn options abound! For the garter sections can carry a strand of lace weight with a strand of silky mohair or a single strand of fingering (or lace) weight. The lace sections are worked in a single strand of lace weight.

The Silver Linings Shawl is worked top down with a nice balance between garter stitch and simple lace work. The color pops at the end can be from stash yarn and just need to have enough contrast to really stand out.

Size and yardage required will vary with yarn and options chosen. I can’t wait to see what you choose to do!
